Crock Pot Cinnamon Applesauce

Making Crock Pot Cinnamon applesauce started for me when my daughter was born and I started to make all her baby food. In about one hour, I could make a month’s supply of food for her and it was so much more cost-effective than buying pre-made jarred foods not to mention healthier.

Once I started reading about the manufacturing processes and how many nutrients are lost during the creation of baby food products, I knew my efforts were well justified. And they were.

Cooking real foods for her also showed her how whole food really tastes. No ghastly grey-green pea puree here my friends, she got the real thing. Fresh or flash-frozen produce cooked, blended, and strained leaving her with the true flavors of the foods she was eating.

Applesauce is one of my favorites anyway so it was nothing for me to cook up a huge batch either on the stove or in my crockpot and have enough for the whole family. Since I was making it myself, I could also control the sugar, texture, and other ingredients that went into each batch. My family and my baby loved it.

This still holds true as we still do frequently make applesauce. My family is so accustomed now to the homemade version that purchasing the jarred sauce is truly a thing of the past. This version is made in the crockpot and really could not be more simple.
