Today, I want to show you how to host a Quick & Easy Backyard Party this summer using some of my favorite brands. I promise this make-ahead menu will leave you relaxed and ready to party when your guests arrive.
I think if there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that we love backyard entertaining. Cooking outside on the grill and spending some much needed time relaxing with friends and family is a must for me this summer. In fact, my backyard entertaining started early this year with some unseasonably warm weather in early May – and I couldn’t have been happier. Summer entertaining, especially for the 4th of July (US holiday), just makes my heart happy.
Let the Fun Begin!
As a rule, you know I make most things I serve at my dinner parties from scratch, but I do have a few go-to quality brands that I trust to help me get out of the kitchen and back into spending quality time with my guests. The first of which are the new RITZ Crisp & Thins. You may have already noticed these in the stores. I sure did! As soon as they came out I immediately bought two bags! The RITZ Crisp & Thins offers the same buttery richness of RITZ Crackers in a thin and crispy, oven-baked chip. They are my new favorite snack and they go great with my Greek Chicken Salad & fresh vegetable platter (crudité). This is a quick and easy make-ahead style party appetizer. Your friends are going to love this – it’s a favorite at my get-togethers! Served with a variety of vegetables picked fresh from my garden and RITZ Crisp & Thins – this Greek Chicken Salad doesn’t hang around the buffet for long! My guests always gobble it down.
Another super simple summer appetizer is this Easy Citrus Salad. Citrus is bright and fresh and always a welcome addition to any summer barbecue. I like to use Newman’s Own Citrus Splash Dressing, which features a blend of fresh citrus flavors, to dress the salad along with some fresh mint from my garden.
Newman’s Own Citrus Splash Dressing has great flavors that compliment this dish and it contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. It can also be used as a marinade for grilling, or as a dipping sauce. This dressing is a triple threat!
Hot Off the Grill:
While the guests are mingling and snacking on appetizers, it’s time to get started on the Grilled Sweet and Spicy BBQ chicken wings. Again, these can be totally made ahead of time and are always a crowd favorite. If you do make them ahead, I’ve got a tip for you! Keep these warm in your oven on the lowest setting (170 – 200 degrees F). They will be fresh and hot for your guests without drying out! My go-to sauce for these wings is Newman’s Own Sweet & Spicy Barbecue Sauce. I love the flavor of this sauce and that Newman’s Own donates 100% of the profits to charity! This is a brand I am proud to serve to my guests.
A Little on the side:
In my family, no backyard barbecue or cookout would be complete without baked beans. These Best Ever Meaty Baked Beans are a tradition around my house and they start with Green Giant Baked Beans. No party fouls here though, just delicious baked beans in traditional flavors your family will enjoy. When I serve these at a party, there are never any leftovers. Canned baked beans are ideal for incorportaing into recipes like this one and are always perfect for summer BBQs.
No barbecue or cookout is complete without a big helping of Creamy Potato Salad with Olives, Pickles, and Eggs. The use of fresh herbs from my garden amplifies the flavor of my potato salad but one of my favorite ingredients in any potato salad is simple. Olives.
The olives I used today are Mario Pitted Olive Packets. These are the perfect size for school (or work) lunches, picnics, hiking, biking and snacking. Each packet contains 10 olives and are packed loose without the juice. One packet is the perfect size for this recipe and they come in a variety of delectable flavors (like garlic, sea salt, and savory pepper) to fit your recipe (or snacking) needs. I like a bargain so I was happy to find an online coupon and spotted them on Amazon.com where they are 20% off through the end of August.
Cool Off with Dessert!
Let’s move onto dessert, shall we? SVEDKA Vodka is a party in its own right – I mean just look at that coloful stars and stripes packaging! Not sure what to do with a bottle of vodka? SVEDKA has included a fun and festive drink recipe right on the back of the bottle for Red, White, and Boom Punch. SVEDKA’s signature cocktails are crowd pleasures. But Vodka is no one trick pony! Today I want to share with you how you can make an adult cocktail-inspired dessert using SVEDKA Vodka – Frozen Mudslide Pie.
Beautiful, right? It’s tasty, too. Each layer is really easy to make but also adds to the overall flavor of this pie which tastes exactly like a mudslide cocktail in a fun and festive dessert.
