Ingredients
12
oz
edamame in pods
(frozen or fresh)
1
–2 inches water
1
teaspoon
sea salt
(or to taste)
Instructions
Bring 1–2 inches of water to a boil in a pot.
Place a steamer basket over the boiling water.
Add edamame pods to the basket in an even layer.
Cover and steam for 5–7 minutes until tender.
Transfer to a bowl and season immediately with sea salt.
Serve warm.
Notes
Always salt immediately after steaming for best flavor
Avoid overcooking to keep the beans tender, not mushy
Frozen edamame works perfectly and saves time
Taste before adding extra salt to prevent over-seasoning
For added flavor, toss with garlic, chili flakes, or sesame oil
