Hello and Welcome!

My name is Ronda Eagle and this is my website, Kitchen Dreaming.

As a full-time recipe developer, I create, prepare, and photograph all the delicious food you see on my website. I specialize in creating quick and easy recipes perfect for today’s hectic lifestyles — lifestyles just like mine!

I have recently started working on video and my husband now helps shoot and edit the videos you see popping into our recipes!

My Passion for Cooking.

There’s nothing I love more than cooking for my family and friends, but I don’t want to spend all my time in the kitchen – I want to spend my time with them socializing outside of the kitchen!

Having a repertoire of 30-minute meals, quick and easy appetizers, and easy yet elegant party fare is an absolute must for me. In my kitchen, I show you how to take your favorite foods and make them quicker and easier to prepare but still full of flavor!

These streamlined dishes are ready in just 30 minutes (or less) without sacrificing flavor or authenticity. My goal is to deliver easy, family-friendly recipes ANYONE can make!

My Love of Cooking.

My love of cooking began as a child. My mom told me that as young as 2 years old, I would watch Julia Child on television. Her cooking show aired on PBS just after Sesame Street! Long after the other kids would run off to play, I would be sitting there watching Julia Child. That love of food continued on through my teenage years and my life.

My Family.

I am pretty shy. So I was overjoyed when I finally met my husband and he swept me off my feet. I am now married to my best friend and biggest fan! He’s my rock and I do not know what I would do without him. We are blessed with a daughter who is our absolute pride and joy.

We currently live in the Lowcountry of South Carolina but didn’t always live here. I am originally from Massachusetts and my husband is from New York.

He has lived in the Lowcountry most of his life so he is very familiar with Southern cooking and I am very well versed in recipes from New England and its colonial American and Portuguese cooking.

Previously, I lived in central Florida for many years and as I love to say “I had to move North to get into the South.”

logoAbout Kitchen Dreaming:

I started this food blog in September 2012 as a way to share my favorite recipes and events with family and friends both near and far. It started as a hobby after my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer to help me deal with my overwhelming grief. It has since grown much larger than I ever imagined with well over 400 recipes and about a half-million visitors per month.

This is our website and all of the recipes are tested and approved by my family. All of the photography is done by myself and I’m the one showing up in our videos. My husband blocks, shoots, and edits the videos you see on our website.

Much of the knowledge I share comes from my mom, aunts, and extended family AKA friends. I am very thankful to have such an amazing group of people who generously share their cooking knowledge.

Love of Travel.

My two favorite passions collide whenever my husband and I travel. Because of this, you will find various recipes for ethnic foods that we’ve picked up in our travels. I have a love of people and cultures both from around our Nation and the world. If you haven’t tried my 30-minute Chicken Vindaloo, you should. This simplified Indian recipe comes from my neighbor. My recipe for Butter Chicken comes from an Indian chef I met on a Caribbean cruise. Jamaican Beef Patties are an absolute must anywhere you travel in the Caribbean. My new next-door neighbor is from Puerto Rico so be on the lookout for some tasty new recipes!

Even though I am shy, I find it very easy to connect with people from any culture just by asking about the foods they love to prepare. It’s amazing to see the pride as they teach you their favorite recipes. Food transcends cultural barriers.
