My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at the Rutledge Cab Company today. From beginning to end we had nothing short of a fantastic dining experience. I am already planning my next trip back.

My husband ordered the House Salad with Blue Cheese dressing and a Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger, by all accounts, was delicious. Made with fresh ground beef and grilled to perfection, it was seasoned perfectly. Every bite was juicy and delicious. Add to that the side of pickled vegetables that came with his plate and he was in heaven.

I had the Escarole Salad (sorry about the blurry photo) and the Huevos Rancheros. The escarole salad was explained by my waited to be similar to a ceasar salad and while it was a delicious salad, this may have been a little of a misnomer as aside from the large pieces of cheese, was nothing like a ceasar salad to me. The salad was delicious none the less. It was perfectly dressed and the dressing itself had a crisp, bright, acidic note that I found very light as compared to a ceasar dressing which can sometimes be a little heavy.

The Huevos Rancheros was also very tasty with a layers of refried beans, and beef brisket layers between two crispy tortillas and finally two perfectly cooked, sunny-side-up eggs, perched atop it all. It was delicious.

Finally, my daughter had the kid's pizza which comes with your choice of soft drink or iced tea. It was a very superior "kid's pizza" as compared to some of the frozen looking pizzas we've been served around town. This was on a grilled flatbread, lightly sauced with marinara and topped with cheese. She really enjoyed it.

About the dining: we arrived at about 11:50 AM (the restaurant is open from 11:30 AM to 11PM) so we were a few minutes ahead of the lunch crowd. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and promptly seated. We were seated right next to the grill. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care for a seat right near the kitchen but today, I felt incredibly lucky to be able see just how extremely well this operation was running. Soon after we were seated, the lunch crowd hit and the entire restaurant was packed.

From what I saw, the staff at this restaurant run a very tight ship. To say our server, Mitchell, was awesome is almost an understatement. The restaurant is a constant stream of interactions as staff move from table to table. the restaurant is a constant buzz of motion. The food expediter, who works directly with both the servers and the kitchen, was busy at all times and even when he wasn't processing orders, he was cleaning up the area and running food to tables. At no time, did I see plates sit under the heat lamps for any amount of time once the full order was ready. If the server wasn't present to take the order, he ran the food out to the tables himself. I don't know his name, but I found him to be absolutely amazing at his job, as were all the staff.

We were in and out in an hour despite the restaurant being so busy and for enjoying two courses for our lunch with salads and entrees. The server entered my daughter's pizza separate so that it came out early and wasn't forced to wait for our entrees to be delivered which was a nice touch.

Based on our experience, we really enjoyed this dining experience and would recommend it.
